Former Tyngsboro Volunteer Firefighter;

Brian J. O’Hearn, 73, of Tyngsboro, died Tuesday, January 26th at Lowell General Hospital.

He was the beloved husband of the late Elizabeth A. (Lavoie) O’Hearn who died in 1990.

Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, June 8, 1942, a son of the late Francis and the late Jeannette (Cormier) O’Hearn, he attended Lowell schools and was a graduate of Lowell High School in the Class of 1961.

Brian proudly served his country in the U.S. Army National Guard as a Private E-4.

Before retiring, Brian was employed as an Electrical Engineer with AOI Industries in Tyngsboro for 10 years. Previously, he worked at the former Wang Laboratories in Lawrence Mass. for 25 years.

He was also a former volunteer firefighter with the Tyngsboro Fire Department for over 19 years.

Among his many activities, Brian loved the outdoors and enjoyed camping, hiking, canoeing and kayaking. His greatest joy however was spending quality time with his family.

Brian is survived by three daughters Dawn M. Ariel and her husband John of Nashua, NH, Carolyn O’Hearn of Tyngsboro and Shannon R. O’Hearn of Hudson, NH; three sons Brian J. O’Hearn, Jr. and his wife Michelle of Nashua, NH, Kevin F. O’Hearn of New Boston, NH and Timothy D. O’Hearn of Tyngsboro; four grandchildren Rachel Sylvester, Christopher Ariel, Nathan O’Hearn and Matthew Ariel; three great-grandchildren; a brother John “Jack” O’Hearn and his wife Jeannette of Tilton, NH; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the O’DONNELL FUNERAL HOME 276 PAWTUCKET ST. at Fletcher from 4 to 8 P.M. Monday. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday morning at ST. MARY MAGDALEN CHURCH in Tyngsboro at 11 o’clock. Burial will follow at Tyngsboro Memorial Cemetery. E-condolences/directions at www.odonnellfuneralhome.com.
