Ann S. Glasheen

Loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend
Ann S. (Smith) Glasheen, 86, of Nashua, formerly of Lowell, died Wednesday, April 6th at D’Youville Senior Care in Lowell. She was the beloved wife of the late Walter M. Glasheen, Jr. who died May 7, 2010.
Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, March 21, 1930, the daughter of the late Philip and the late Anna (Gillick) Smith, she attended the Immaculate Conception Grammar School and was a graduate of the Academy of Notre Dame in the Class of 1947.
Before retiring, Ann was employed as a clerk with the Registry of Motor Vehicles in Lowell for over 20 years. Previously, she worked at Sears in the credit department as an auditor. She also worked for the Massachusetts Electric Company.
Among her many interests, Ann enjoyed camping, knitting, jigsaw puzzles and known for her beautiful voice, enjoyed singing in local choirs. She was also an avid Red Sox fan. She also particularly enjoyed her many activities with her lifelong and fondest of friends known as “CLUB”.
Above all else though, she loved the quality time she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-granddaughter.
Ann is survived by three daughters Mary Barry and her husband Michael of Tyngsboro, MA, Monica Grant and her companion Francis Miethe of Nashua, NH and Sarah “Sally” Marshall of Nashua, NH; two sons Michael P. Glasheen and his wife Kathleen of Lowell, MA and Patrick S. Glasheen of Pepperell, MA; ten grandchildren John, Ryan and Monica Barry, Kaitlyn Grant and her husband Patrick Ragan, Molly Grant, Joshua Glasheen and his wife Melissa, Brendan and Sean Glasheen and Colin and Alec Marshall; a great-grandaughter Juliet Glasheen; a sister Mary Currie of Chelmsford, MA; a sister-in-law Carol Smith of Hollis, NH; and many nieces and nephews.
She was also sister of the late Patrick, Thomas, James, Joseph, Philip, William, John, Brendan and Kevin Smith and mother-in-law of the late Marc Marshall.
Ann’s family would like to thank the nurses and staff of D’Youville Senior Care for the exceptional comfort and care that they provided to their mother over the last couple of months.
Friends may call at the O’DONNELL FUNERAL HOME 276 PAWTUCKET ST. at Fletcher from 10 A.M. to 12 P.M. on Saturday. Her Funeral Mass will immediately follow at ST.
