Worked with Cliff for many years at the Purity Supreme warehouse. He was a great coworker; I was a Navy guy too and we talked about our experiences (which Cliff had much more of ) God Bless Him and wish Fair Winds and Following Seas.

Clifford L. Grant, 95, of Lowell, died Wednesday, August 17th at his home with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband of the late Mary T. (White) Grant who died in 2001.
Born in Boston, Massachusetts, October 26, 1920, a son of the late George and the late Laura (Lewis) Grant, he received his education in the Jamaica Plain school system. A proud veteran of World War II, Clifford proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific Theater as a Gunner’s Mate 3rd Class aboard the USS Helena (CL-50) where he participated during the attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. During his 20 year career in the navy, he was awarded the Good Conduct Medal (twice), American Defense Service Medal with Fleet Clasp, American Campaign Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, World War II Victory Medal, Navy Occupation Service Medal and National Defense Service Medal. Following his retirement from the navy, he then went on to enjoy a 30 plus year career as a warehouse worker with the former Purity Supreme in Billerica. Among his many activities, Clifford enjoyed building model ships and reading just about anything about the World War II era. He also enjoyed solving word search puzzles and watching football on television, especially the annual Army/Navy game. He was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 8819 in North Billerica. Above all else though, being all about family, he cherished the quality time he was able to spend with his children and grandchildren. Clifford is survived by two daughters Nancy Ahlin and her husband Kai of New Durham, NH and Karen A. Woodman and her husband Allen of Lowell; two grandchildren Tyler G. and Kelsey L. Woodman. and several nieces and nephews. He was also brother of the late Evelyn Moore, Arlene Grant, Mildred Peterson and Leslie Grant and step-father of the late Allen, David and Robert Hanlon.
