Anne V. Stewart

Of Lowell, devoted to her family

Anne V. (O’Hare) Stewart, 89, a resident of the Highland section of the city died Monday afternoon at D’Youville Life and Wellness Community after a brief illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Roy J. Stewart, with whom she shared 58 years of marriage.
Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, July 8, 1927, the daughter of the late John J. O’Hare and the late Mary Agnes (Coakley) O’Hare, she received her education at St. Patrick’s Grammar School and St. Patrick’s Girl’s High School.
Anne began her career working at Jack’s Used Auto Parts in Lowell.  She then worked for the Lowell School Department for many years as “The Hearing Lady”. A job that Anne absolutely loved!
Anne was a longtime communicant of St. Margaret Parish in Lowell.
Anne was at heart a loving wife, mother, nana, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend.
Her favorite moments were the time she spent with her grandsons, Ryan and Kyle, talking about their school and sport activities as well as current events.  The light of her life was her daughter, Katie, whom she loved with all her heart.
The three O’Hare sisters, Anne, Pat, and Marie were an iconic trio, inseparable in life.  Their bond flourished in their countless family vacations, fun times spent with friends, and the family, and the unforgettable stories they passed down.  It’s hard to remember a conversation they had that didn’t include an abundance of laughter- they truly embraced life together with love and happiness.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Katie (Stewart) Frechette of Tyngsboro; a son John E. Stewart; two grandsons, Ryan and Kyle Frechette, of Tyngsboro, her dear sisters Marie Sherman of Lowell, Pat Caron and her husband John of Lowell, sister-in-law, Nancy Stewart of Dracut; several nieces, nephews, and many special longtime friends, especially, her dearest friend of 80 years, Mary (Pollard) Paruti.
