Beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend;

 Eileen C. (Rourke) Golden, 76, a member of a well-known Lowell family, died Saturday evening, March 11th at Lowell General Hospital – Main Campus with her loving family by her side.

 Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, May 28, 1940, a daughter of the late Stephen L. Rourke, Sr. and the late Lillian T. Before retiring, Eileen was employed as an X-Ray Technician at the former St. John’s Hospital in Lowell for over 40 years. Following retirement, she was a Volunteer Coordinator at the Lowell Senior Center.

Among her many interests, Eileen enjoyed dancing and loved the beach. She was very proud of her Irish heritage and loved listening to Irish music. She was also a member and former president of the East End Club Ladies Auxiliary and an avid New England Patriots fan.    Above all else though, being all about family, she cherished the quality time that she could spend with her children and grandchildren.

 In honor of the “High Holiday” on Friday and in the spirit of Eileen’s life, the Golden family invites anyone who stops by to dress as they usually would on March 17th. No formality is required.

    Just learned of your mothers passing. Cannot believe it. I worked with her at the Medical Center of Greater Lowell for many years. There was no one like her. She was a very unique person. She had a heart of gold and with her since of humor made me laugh all the time. I would see her now and then in the market and boy that humor was still there. She will be very much missed by all the lives she touched. I know I will miss her. I had always asked Tommy when I saw him at the Neighborhood events and he would always say, you know my mother she is wonderful. Now she is at peace. My sympathy to the entire family. She was very much loved. Robin from Centerville.
