Loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle
Edward L. Yeager, 88, of Lowell, died, peacefully, Wednesday, June 7th at the Blaire House in Tewksbury surrounded by loved ones.
He was the beloved husband of Marie Heselton-Yeager who survives him and with whom he celebrated their 23rd wedding anniversary on December 16, 2016.
Born in Boston, Massachusetts, February 12, 1929, son of the late Edward W. and the late Catherine (Feeney) Yeager, he attended South Boston schools and was a graduate of South Boston High School. He was very proud to have grown up in Southie.
A veteran of the U.S. Army National Guard 1952-1955, Eddie proudly served during the Korean Conflict.
Before retiring, Eddie was employed for over 30 years as a Line Assigner with Verizon, formerly known as New England Telephone & Telegraph and member of the Verizon Pioneers.
Eddie was also an active member in Comhaltas Ceoltóri Éireann Reynolds-Hanafin-Cooley Branch, an Irish organization dedicated to the promotion of music, song, dance and the language of Ireland..
In addition to his wife Marie, Mr. Yeager is survived by a daughter and a son; four stepchildren David Cappella and his fiancée Lena Consiglio of Worcester, MA, Phillip Cappella of Lowell, MA, Sandra Gerard of Merritt Island, FL and Tanya Ikier and her husband William of Burlington, MA; grandchildren Angelique Cappella, Carol (Cappella) Brown, Shawn Heselton, Thomas Heselton, Clarence “CJ” Wixon, Adam Cappella, Andrew Singthongyang, Jason, Matte, Alanda Wixon, Jenni Lee Cappella, Christopher Ikier, Dakota Ikier and Brianna Ikier; thirteen great-grandchildren; a sister Claire Campbell and her companion Carl Buckner of Avon, MA; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
He was also brother of the late Robert Yeager. Friends may call at the O’DONNELL FUNERAL HOME 276 PAWTUCKET ST. at Fletcher from 4 to 8 P.M. Monday. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass to be celebrated Tuesday morning at the IMMACULATE CONCEPTION CHURCH in Lowell at 11 o’clock followed by his burial at St. Mary Cemetery.
