Marguerite E. Farley
Loving, wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt Marguerite E. (Lantagne) Farley, 63, of Lowell, died suddenly while vacationing with her family in Seabrook New Hampshire. She was the beloved wife of Michael F. Farley who survives her and with whom she celebrated their 39th wedding anniversary on April 21st of this year.
Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, January 12, 1954, a daughter of the late Harold “Budgie” and the late Agnes (Flaherty) Lantagne, she attended the Sacred Heart Grammar School in Lowell, and was a graduate of the Academy of Notre Dame with the Class of 1971. She then attended Salve Regina College in Newport, Rhode Island and later graduated from Emmanuel College in Boston earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education.
A devout Catholic, Marguerite was a longtime parishioner of the Immaculate Conception Church in Lowell for many years. She instilled a strong catholic faith in her children.
Marguerite was employed by the City of Lowell School Department as reading specialist for many years before finishing her career at the Riley School as a second grade teacher, prior to her retirement.
Marguerite enjoyed traveling, among her most cherished trips were a family vacation to Ireland, her pilgrimage to Medjugorje, and trips too Bora Bora, Paris, Rome, and Venice. She also loved her annual vacations at Seabrook beach with her family. She had the ability to light up any room she was in and left a lasting impact on all those touched. Above all else, being all about family, she cherished the quality time she spent with her husband, children and grandchildren.
In addition to her husband Mike, Marguerite is survived by three daughters Kristin Farley, Lisa Shepard and her husband Matthew and Mary Farley all of Lowell; a son Michael F. Farley, Jr. and his wife Amanda of Lowell; four grandchildren Victoria, Charlise, Madelyn and Liam; two sisters Mary Ann Kelley and her husband Stephen of Newton, MA and Lisa Klobutcher and her husband Robert “Skip” of Lowell; a brother Bryan Lantagne of Chelmsford, MA; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the O’DONNELL FUNERAL HOME 276 PAWTUCKET ST. at Fletcher from 4 to 8 P.M. Wednesday. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Mass to be celebrated Thursday morning at the IMMACULATE CONCEPTION CHURCH in Lowell at 10 o’clock followed by burial in St. Patrick Cemetery.
