Virginia L. Taff

Loving mother, grandparent, sister and friend;

Virginia L. (Kelley) Taff, 92, a resident of the Highland’s section of the City, died Thursday morning at the Northwood Rehabilitation Center in Lowell.

She was the beloved wife of the late Edward J. Taff, who died February 16, 2009.

Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, December 28, 1924, a daughter of the late Frank J. and the late Florence (O’Malley) Kelley, she attended Lowell schools and was a graduate of Lowell High School Class of 1942.
A lifelong communicant of St. Margaret Church, Virginia was also a member of the Blessed Virgin Sodality.
 
Virginia retired from the Pilling Shoe Company where she worked as a lacer for many years. Later, she worked at the Epicure Tea Room in Lowell.

She also served as a member of the Lowell Election Commission.
Her survivors now include four granddaughters Robin Hawley, Erin Taff, Shannon Carota and Meaghan Taff; five great grandchildren; a daughter-in-law Mary Taff; a brother-in-law Joseph E. Taff and his wife Nancy of Tyngsboro; a sister-in-law Sandra Eagan and her husband Thomas of Lowell;  many nieces and nephews.

Virginia was the mother of the late Atty. Dennis E. Taff and the late Kevin M. Taff. She was also the sister of the late Mary Chase, the late Paul F. Kelley, the late George Kelley and the late Rita Greska.

Friends may call at the O’DONNELL FUNERAL HOME 276 PAWTUCKET ST. at Fletcher from 3 to 7 P.M. Monday. Her Funeral will take place at the funeral home Tuesday morning at 11 o’clock followed by a Funeral Mass at ST. MARGARET CHURCH at 12:00 NOON. Burial will follow at St. Patrick Cemetery.
