Socheath Loc Uch

 Loc Uch, Socheath, 67, of Lowell, died Tuesday, July 26th at T fts Medical Center in Boston with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Lily Seangly Suong who survives him.
 Born in Kandal Province, Cambodia, June 6, 1949, he was a son of the late Sary Uch and the late Lay Ben.
 In early January 1981, Loc Uch, Socheath and his wife settled in Lowell, MA. As one of the first few Cambodians to settle in Lowell, Loc Uch, Socheath was hired by the International Institute to work as a translator to help assist newly arrived Cambodian Refugees. He has helped hundreds of Cambodians settled in Lowell, as well as connecting Cambodian people with their families. Before retiring, Loc Uch, Socheath was employed as a Technician with Wang Laboratories in the 1990’s.
 Among his many activities, Loc Uch, Socheath was a Cambodian community activist, a member of the Glory Buddhist Temple in Lowell, a member of Wat Khmer Samaki Santikaram of North Chelmsford and served on the board of directors of the CMAA (Cambodian Mutual Assistance Association) in the late 80’s.
  In addition to his wife Lily, Loc Uch, Socheath is survived by his children Sowathana “Sna” Uch, Sochenda Uch, Linda Uch, Sophea Uch, Sokunthear Uch and Sovannara Uch, five grand children; and his younger brother Bunheng Uch.
 Temple and wake service will take place at Glory Buddhist Temple on the “7th” Day of his passing, Monday, August 1, 2016 at 3:00 PM followed by a prayer service by the monks in traditional khmer ceremony.
 Interment will take place at Westlawn I Cemetery on Tuesday, August 2, 2016. Procession to Westlawn I Cemetery will start at Glory Buddhist Temple with a morning prayer service at 7:00 AM. If you would like to only attend the Burial Service please be at the temple no later than 8:30AM.
 The family of Mr. Loc Uch, Socheath is requesting that all attendees for the ceremony wear white instead of the traditional black attire if possible (not required). Although we are mourning his passing, we must also take this time to celebrate his life.

HAVERHILL--Terrill Gerow, age 70, died Monday, July 18th at Kaplan Family Hospice in Danvers, after a lengthy illness. 

Born in Lowell, MA, the daughter of the late William F. Gerow and the late Mayre R.  (Gannon)  Gerow, Terrill was educated in Lowell schools and graduated from Keith Hall in 1963.

A longtime resident of Haverhill, she worked in several Lowell and Lawrence area facilities for New England Telephone Company. She was a technician and proud of the gender barrier breaking positions held at the company, often working in all male jobs.  She retired in 1997.

Terrill considered herself fortunate to have been the recipient of an organ donation, which gave her many additional years.  She was passionate about animals and adopted several rescue pets from area facilities.

In addition to her parents, Terrill was preceded in death by her adored brother William F. Gerow, Jr.  She is survived by several cousins including those who cared for Terrill as her health deteriorated;  David Gerow of Longs, SC, Karen Roduta of Townsend, MA and Kevin Gerow of Methuen, MA.  

She also had supportive neighbors, friends and health care professionals who made it possible for her to remain at home.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her graveside Committal Service at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Lowell, MA on Wednesday, July 27 at 2:00 P.M (in Section G). Kitsa E. “Mitzi” Anastopoulos

Loving mother, grandmother and sister
Kitsa E. “Mitzi” (Tsandikos) Anastopoulos, 90, of Hingham, formerly of Cape Cod and Lowell, died Wednesday, July 13th at the Pat Roche Hospice House in Hingham. She was the beloved wife of the late Theodore W. Anastopoulos who died in 1982.
Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, June 14, 1926, a daughter of the late Michael and the late Helen (Karakantas) Tsandikos, she attended Lowell schools and was a graduate of Lowell High School, class of 1944.
Mitzi moved from Lowell to Cape Cod in 1991 and then to Hingham in 2011. She was a longtime member of the Hellenic Orthodox Church of the Holy Trinity in Lowell.
Before retiring, Mitzi was employed as a Vice President in the Mortgage and Loan Department at Comfed Bank, formerly the First Federal Savings Bank in Lowell for over 28 years.
Among her many interests, Mitzi enjoyed cooking, knitting, reading, walking and was a Red Sox and Patriots fan. She also loved the quality time that she was able to spend with her family and friends.
Mitzi is survived by a daughter Frances Gordon and her husband John of North Scituate, RI; a son Harry Anastopoulos M.D. of Weston, MA; two grandchildren Marina Anastopoulos of Boston, MA and Theodore Anastopoulos of Weston, MA; a brother George Tsandikos of Chelmsford, MA; and two nieces Angela Papandreou and Elaine Damianakis.
She was also sister of the late Bessie Haidutis and aunt of the late John Haidutis.
Friends will be received on Saturday morning at the HELLENIC ORTHODOX CHURCH OF THE HOLY TRINITY from 10 to 11 o’clock. Her Funeral Service will immediately follow in the church at 11 o’clock. Burial in Westlawn Cemetery. Philip L. Kennison

Retired 30 year veteran U.S. Air Force,

Philip L. Kennison, 92, a 30 year veteran of the U.S. Air Force, having served during World War II, the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War, died Thursday morning at his home in Chelmsford surrounded by his loving family.

He was the husband of the late Romaine D. (Carignan) Kennison who died in 2005.

Born in Bristol, CT, March 5, 1924, the son of the late Vinal W. and the late Constance J. (Boulier) Kenneson, he attended Terryville, CT schools and went on to attend the Armed Forces Institute College.

Philip entered the Armed Forces in 1940 and over a distinguished 30 year career, through three wars, he proudly served his country with honor and distinction, retiring as a CM Sgt. 

In addition, he worked as a civilian with the Department of Defense.

Philip is survived by three daughters Romaine D. Sharpling of Whitehouse, TX, Cathy J. Levangie and Susan P. Kennison both of Chelmsford, MA; a son Philip L. Kennison, Jr. of Orlando, FL; two grandchildren Lisa Powell of Waco, TX and Crystal Levangie of Lowell, MA; four great grandchildren; two great grandchildren; a brother Vinal Kenneson of Chicopee, MA and a sister Ella Arsenault of FL.
