Kleonike J. “Claire” Bentas

 
Former Executive Assistant, UMass Lowell
 
 Kleonike J. “Claire” Bentas, 88, of Lowell, died Sunday, October 16th at the Palm Center in Chelmsford with her loving family by her side.
 Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, November 5, 1927, a daughter of the late John E. and the late Vaitsa (Laios) Bentas, she attended Lowell schools and was a graduate of Lowell High School with the Class of 1945.
 Claire Bentas began her career at Lowell Technological Institute in 1956 serving as the Executive Assistant to then President, Dr. Everett Olsen. She continued working in the Chancellor area supporting the Executive Vice Chancellor until her retirement from the University of Massachusetts Lowell in 1999.
 Claire was a lifelong member of the Hellenic Orthodox Church of the Holy Trinity in Lowell where she was a member of the Daughters of Penelope and the Philoptochos Society.
 Among her many interests, she loved to travel, especially to Greece and Russia and was an avid reader.
 Claire is survived by a sister Thalia J. Bentas of Lowell; a brother Efthemios J. “Tim” Bentas and his wife Lily H. of Boston, MA; and several cousins in Greece.
 She was also sister of the late Dr. Christos J. Bentas who died in 2003.
 Friends will be received on Thursday morning at the HELLENIC ORTHODOX CHURCH OF THE HOLY TRINITY from 10 to 11 o’clock. Her Funeral Service will immediately follow in the church at 11 o’clock. Kathryn B. "KD" Dinneen

 
Beloved sister, aunt and friend
 
 Kathryn B. “KD” Dinneen, 68, of North Reading, formerly of Lowell, died Sunday, October 9th at Hannah Duston Healthcare Center in Haverhill.
 Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, March 9, 1948, a daughter of the late Edward L. and the late Mary E. (Healy) Dinneen, she attended Lowell schools and was a graduate of Lowell High School in the Class of 1966 where she also served as a Girl Officer. Eager to further her education, she then went on to attend Northeastern University in Boston.
 Before retiring, Kathryn was employed as a Medical Billing Technician for Tufts New England Medical Center in Boston for over 20 years. Previously she worked as an X-ray Technician at the former St. John’s Hospital (now known as Lowell General Hospital – Saints Campus). 
 Among her many interests, Kathryn loved to cooking, baking and sewing. She had a large collection of recipes which were always in great demand from her family and friends.
 Kathryn is survived by two sisters Carole Miller of Myrtle Beach, SC and Mary Gail Gould of NC; two brothers Edward L. “Ted” Dinneen of NH and Robert C. Dinneen of Lowell, MA; many nieces and nephews; and her dear friends Joseph Goldman of Framingham, MA, Sandra Laquidara of Andover, MA, Mary “Sally” Burke of Hyannis, MA and Lisa Buccos of Haverhill, MA.
 Relatives and friends may call at the O’DONNELL FUNERAL HOME 276 PAWTUCKET ST. at Fletcher from 8:30 to 9:30 A.M. Thursday morning. Her Funeral Mass will follow at ST. PATRICK CHURCH in Lowell at 10 o’clock. Committal Services will be held privately. E-condolences/directions at

Retired from U/Mass Lowell;

 

David R. Tighe, 88, a member of a well known Lowell family, died Sunday morning at Town and Country Healthcare Center in Lowell.

 Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, May 30, 1928, the son of the late Dr. Michael A. and the late Helena R. (Calnin) Tighe, he received his education in the Lowell School system.

 Prior to his retirement, David was employed by Lowell Technological Institute (now known as U/Mass Lowell) with the maintenance department where he worked for over 25 years.

 An avid Red Sox fan, David enjoyed playing golf and bowling. He was a former member of Apple Country Club in Chelmsford and bowled in several area bowling leagues as well.

 He also served as an usher at St. Mary Church in Chelmsford for many years.

 David is survived by several nieces and nephews including Julie (Laughlin) Sablone and her husband Frank of Gloucester, Jody (Tighe) O’Hearn and her husband Peter of Lowell, Helen (Tighe) Payton of Seattle, WA, Peter Laughlin and his wife Mary of Little River, SC, Thomas "Toby" Tighe and his wife Linna of Towson, MD and James Tighe and his wife Gail of Marblehead; many grandnieces and grandnephews.

He was also the brother of the late Thomas J.G. Tighe, the late James M.C. Tighe and the late Janet (Tighe) Laughlin.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass to be celebrated Wednesday morning at the IMMACULATE CONCEPTION CHURCH at 11 o’clock followed by his burial at St. Patrick Cemetery.   Frances I. (Maguire) Tully, 90, of Ayer, formerly of Pelham N.H., Salisbury and Haverhill died Wednesday, October 5th at Apple Valley Center in Ayer.
 Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, December 10, 1925, the daughter of the late Hugh and the late Frances (Fogarty) Maguire, she attended Pelham New Hampshire elementary schools and was a graduate of Lowell High School in the Class of 1942.
 Before retiring, Frances was employed as a Home Health Aide with Home Health Visiting Nurse Incorporated.
 Among her many interests were cooking, shopping and bingo.
 Frances is survived by a son Donald J. Tully of Ayer, a niece Jeanette L’Heureux and her family of Dracut
 She was also sister of the late Harriet (Maguire) Coulliard, Frederick J. Maguire and Paul Maguire.
