Charles G. Spanos
Beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather and uncle;
Charles G. Spanos, 90, of Lowell, MA, a member of a well-known Greater Lowell family passed away peacefully on Wednesday August 6, 2025, at Lowell General Hospital.
He was the loving husband for many years of the late Carole G. (Hodgdon) Spanos.
Born in Lowell, MA on July 29, 1935, the beloved son of the late George and Veneta (Sperounis) Spanos, he attended Lowell schools and was a proud graduate of Lowell High School Class of 1947. Charles, an excellent athlete, excelled in both baseball and football.
Prior to his retirement, Charlie dedicated 42 years of service as a Millwright at Raytheon Co. in Lowell and was a proud member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union Local 1505.
A devoted parishioner of Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church, he especially cherished the time spent with his family.
Charlie was a passionate supporter of New England sports, especially the Patriots. In addition, enjoyed woodworking, traveling, and dancing.
He is survived by his daughter and her husband Sandra and Tim Thibodeau of Spring Texas, and son and daughter-in-law Chris A. and Amy Spanos of Wilmington, son-in-law Roland Morrissey of Hudson, NH and daughter-in-law Nancy Spanos of Lowell; seven grandchildren and their spouses, Shaun and husband Jeff Spanos, Eric and Kara Aubin, Crystal and wife LeAnne Spanos, Tim and Stacy Thibodeau Jr., Meagan and Darren Willman, Karisa and Nick Tilton, Paige Spanos and partner Johhny Iacobucci and Grace Thibodeau; 14 great-grandchildren, Liam Spanos, Naomie Spanos, Leah Aubin, Benjamin Winkler, Aidan Aubin, Victoria Aubin, Keagan Aubin, Jaxson Aubin, Knox Willman, Ezra Willman, Trey Thibodeau, Riley Wallace, Cane Wallace and Audrey Tilton and also several nieces and nephews.
Charlie was also the father of the late Charlene Morrissey who passed away in 2024 and Charles “Chuck” Spanos Jr. who passed away in 2023, and brother of the late John Spanos, Anastasia Spanos, Irene Spanos, Andrew Spanos, Dorothy Spanos, Jim Spanos and Lou Spanos.
Charles would like us to tell you he “Loves yas all” and hope you have a “Happy Ending”!!
Friends may call on Wednesday August 13, 2025, at the O'DONNELL FUNERAL HOME 276 PAWTUCKET ST. in LOWELL from 4 to 7 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service to be held on Thursday August 14, 2025 at the TRANSFIGURATION GREEK ORTHODOX CHURCH in LOWELL at 11 o'clock followed by his burial at the Westlawn Cemetery.
