Beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother;
Dolores K. (Monbleau) Abrams, 95, of Lowell, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, August 23, 2025.
She was the loving wife for over 60 years of retired Lowell Firefighter John C. “Jack” Abrams, who predeceased her in 2012.
Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, May 2, 1930, the daughter of the late Henry and Noretta (Reid) Monbleau, she attended Dracut grammar schools and graduated from St. Patrick High School.
Dolores worked as an Administrative Assistant at the Lowell YMCA and met her husband Jack there in 1949. After their marriage on November 18, 1951, she devoted her life to the care and support of her family.
Among her many interests, Dolores enjoyed weekly lunches with her husband and friends. She also spent 30 years vacationing with family and friends in York Beach, ME. She was a skilled seamstress and knitter, taking great pleasure in creating sweaters and mittens that have been handed down through generations of her family.
She is survived by two sons, John R. “Jack” Abrams and his wife Claire of Lowell, MA, and Gary Abrams of Dracut, MA; a daughter, Joan Abrams-Shapiro and her husband Michael of Upper Saddle River, NJ; five grandchildren, Jonathan Abrams, Lauren James and her husband Kevin, Meghan Kennedy and her husband Matthew, Robyn Shapiro and her husband Brian McGrail, and Peter Shapiro; and three great grandchildren, Carter James, Nolan Kennedy, and Reagan Kennedy.
She was the sister of the late Joan M. Tansey.
Relatives and friends may call on Friday August 29, 2025, at the IMMACULATE CONCEPTION CHURCH in LOWELL from 9:00 to 10:45 A.M. Her Funeral Mass will follow at 11 o'clock.
