Long Time Dracut Resident
Donald W. Anderson, 90, of Dracut, passed away on May 7, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
Don was born In Franklin, NH on February 7, 1936, to the late John E. and Lucy (Mosher) Anderson.
He attended and graduated from Lowell High School in 1954 and the former Lowell Tech. Don proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and continued serving his country by working at Raytheon as an Industrial Engineer for 38 years.
Don met his soulmate, and late wife, Viola (Handley) Anderson in front of the home they lovingly shared for 61 years of marriage until Vi's passing in 2019. They were inseparable and enjoyed traveling and wintering in Naples, FL for several years.
Don enjoyed selflessly helping others, puttering around his house, golf, horseshoes, woodworking and, most importantly, being there for his family.
Don is survived by his son, Donald Anderson, Jr. and his wife Antonette of Salem, NH, his devoted daughter and caregiver, Carole (Anderson) Roberts with whom he resided, 3 grandchildren, Kaitlyn (Roberts) King and her husband Chris of Dracut, Michael Anderson of Boston, and Dr. Stephanie Anderson of Missouri. He is also survived by 2 great-grandchildren, Brendon King and Mason King of Dracut and many much loved nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by his 5 siblings, William Anderson, Robert Anderson, Gloria Brady, Betty Apostolakos, and Ruth Hancock.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his visitation on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at the O'DONNELL FUNERAL HOME 276 PAWTUCKET ST. in LOWELL from 9:30 to 11:30 AM followed by his Funeral Service to be held in the funeral home at 11:30 AM.
