Joanne (Rogers) Parent

Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.

Joanne (Rogers) Parent, 82, of Windham, New Hampshire, formerly of Lowell, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 7, 2025, at Lowell General Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

She was the devoted wife for over 61 years of John D. Parent, Jr., who survives her.

Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, the daughter of the late Frederick and the late Katherine (Coalter) Rogers, she attended St. Patrick’s Grammar School and was a graduate of Keith Hall in Lowell.

Prior to her retirement, Joanne was the receptionist for Pelham Chiropractic Clinic in Pelham, NH for many years. She also worked for Raytheon Corporation before marrying and raising her family.

Joanne was a member of the Seton Guild, and more recently the Windham Garden Club where she made many friendships and fond memories.

Joanne enjoyed spending time in Wells, Maine with her family, sitting on the beach or rocking on the front porch enjoying a Congdon's donut or a glass of pinot grigio.  She  also enjoyed socializing with her girlfriends from high school, affectionately known as “The Hens”, and so many other friends from different parts of her life. 

However, her greatest joy was the time she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren, whom she adored.  She was anticipating the birth of her first great grandchild. 

Besides her husband John, Joanne is survived by her daughter Dr. Leah Geary and her husband Atty. Michael Geary of Lowell; her son Dr. J. Daniel Parent and his wife Dr. Dawna Parent of Windham, NH; four grandchildren Brynn Geary and Reese Geary both of Lowell, Dr. Nicole Parent of Manchester, NH and Riley Parent and his wife Avery of Merrimack, NH; and several nieces and nephews.

She was the sister of the late Katherine (Sandra) Fanning and the late Patricia (Patsy) Duchesne.

Friends may call on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at the O’DONNELL FUNERAL HOME 276 PAWTUCKET ST. in LOWELL from 4 to 7 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Mass to be celebrated on Friday, September 12, 2025, at the Immaculate Conception Church in Lowell at 12:00 Noon. (Please meet at Church).
