Beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and sister.
Karen A. (Thyne) (Courtney) Cloonan, 73, of Lowell, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, May 3, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
She was the loving wife of the late Thomas R. Cloonan.
Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, June 28, 1951, the daughter of the late James and the late Marilyn (Bigelow) Thyne, she attended Lowell schools and was a graduate of Lowell High School Class of 1969.
Prior to her retirement, Karen was an Office Manager with Orthodontis Associates in Lowell for over 25 years.
Among her many interests Karen enjoyed watching Law & Order with her loyal companion, Peyton, her golden retriever.
However, her greatest joy was the time she spent with her family.
Karen is survived by her son Christopher J. Courtney and his wife Gina of Lowell; five grandchildren Melissa M. Davis and her husband Jared of Dunstable, Kristen A. Courtney and her fiancé John Russo of West Palm Beach, FL, Kyle T. Courtney, SRA with US Air Force of Frederia, DL, Ryan C. Courtney and Jack P. Courtney both of Lowell; three great grandchildren Meredith and Levi Davis of Dunstable and Blakelyn Russo of Palm Beach, FL. Karen is survived by two brothers Kevin Thyne of Pelham, NH and William Sager and his wife Pauline of Littleton and many and nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her sister, Donna Hanley & brother, James Thyne.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Committal Services on Friday May 9, 2025, at ST. MARY CEMETERY (Section 11) in Tewksbury at 12:00 Noon.
