Kristine A. McAndrews

Beloved sister, aunt, and friend;

Kristine A. McAndrews, 59, of Lowell, Massachusetts, passed away on Sunday, May 25, 2025, at Lawrence General Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, November 21, 1965, the daughter of the late Michael P. and the late Margaret B. (Howe) McAndrews, she attended Lowell schools and was a graduate of Lowell High School, class of 1983. She went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Psychology from the University of Massachusetts, Lowell.

Kristine worked as the Senior Closeout Coordinator for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts School Building Authority for over 13 years.

She was a true animal lover as her beloved 29-year-old pet bird, Chickadee, could attest. She also was a dog walker in her spare time for Calvin and Bailey, who predeceased her.

Kristine is survived by two sisters, Virginia “Dedi” McAndrews and her partner Gary Spring of Lowell, MA, and Michaelanne M. Ryan and her husband Robert of Dracut, MA; a brother, Mark P. McAndrews and his wife Dr. Natalie Bolton of St. Charles, MO; three nephews, Jonathan P. Ryan and his wife Megan of Dracut, MA, Michael R. Ryan and his wife Caitlyn of Murfreesboro, TN, and Alejandro P. McAndrews of St. Charles, MO; a niece, Mikaela A. Downs and her husband Perry of Lowell, MA; several grandnieces and grandnephews; her lifelong best friend, Tom Santos of Malden, MA; and her beloved pet bird, Chickadee.

Her family would like to thank the staff at Tufts Medical Center, 8th Floor Infusion Center and Bone Marrow Transplant Unit, for their compassionate care for Kristine.

Friends may call on Sunday, June 1, 2025, at the O’DONNELL FUNERAL HOME 276 PAWTUCKET ST. in LOWELL from 2 to 5 P.M. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday morning at ST.
