Beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother;
Mary J. (Carney) Blazon, 97, formerly of Lowell, Massachusetts, passed away on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at Vantage at Andover, with her beloved family by her side.
She was the loving wife of the late George A. Blazon, who died in 1996.
Born in Cambridge, MA, April 8, 1928, the daughter of the late William and the late Nora (Dwyer) Carney, she graduated from the Academy of Notre Dame in the class of 1945.
Mary attended classes after graduating at Rogers Hall Post Graduate School and then earned a certificate from the Katharine Gibbs School for Executive Secretaries in 1947.
Prior to retirement, she worked as an administrative secretary for 10 years at the Law Offices of Donahue and Donahue in Lowell, MA.
A longtime communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church, Mary was also a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, the League of Catholic Women, and the Red Hat Society. She dedicated many hours of her life to serving her community. Mary enjoyed gardening and was a member of the Spindle City Garden Club in Lowell.
Mary enjoyed to golf, and was a former member of Vesper Country Club and Mt. Pleasant Golf Club.
She is survived by three sons, William G. Blazon and his partner Susan Oser of Lowell, MA, John E. Blazon and his wife Debra of Orlando, FL, and David T. Blazon and his wife Kerry of Lowell, MA; five grandchildren, Matthew Blazon and his wife Ashley of Amherst, NH, Andrew Blazon and his wife Hope of Bossier City, LA, Thomas Blazon of Boston, MA, Lauren Martin and her husband Dan of Lowell, MA, and Sara Blazon of Lowell, MA; and three great grandchildren, Colton Blazon of Amherst, NH, Emma Blazon of Amherst, NH, and Marshall Martin of Lowell, MA.
Relatives and friends may call on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at the O'DONNELL FUNERAL HOME 276 PAWTUCKET ST. in LOWELL from 9:00 to 10:15 A.M. followed by her Funeral Mass to be celebrated at IMMACULATE CONCEPTION CHURCH at 11:00 A.M.
