Beloved sister and aunt;
Olga C. Laganas, fifth of the seven daughters and beloved daughter of the late Constantine and Anastasia Laganas of Lowell, Massachusetts, quietly and courageously passed away on May 16, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Dracut, Massachusetts on July 22, 1928, Olga graduated from Dracut High School and Forsythe School of Dental Hygiene. She also attended courses at Tufts Dental School.
Olga had an independent and determined personality. She was always meticulous about her appearance. With a kind, big, and charitable heart, Olga delighted in making guests welcome into her home. Cooking and baking for family and friends was her joy.
A lifetime member of the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, Olga was a dedicated member of the church choir. She also was a committed participant in the charitable work of the Holy Trinity Philoptochos Ladies Society and served as President of Daughters of Penelope. Additionally, she was quite active in the American Dental Association, the Forsythe Alumni Dental Association, and the Massachusetts Dental Association. Community work included charitable and volunteer work at Whistler House Art Museum, Dracut Historical Society, Hellenic Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and the Lowell Garden Club.
Olga will be dearly and lovingly missed by her devoted sister Patricia Dukakis of South Natick, Massachusetts, her nephew Constantine Sarantos and his wife Elizabeth of Andover, Massachusetts, and their children Alyssa and Christopher, and her nieces Amalie Ann George of Needham, Massachusetts and Anastasia Sarantos Taskin and her husband Cengiz Taskin of Wyckoff, New Jersey.
Olga was predeceased by her sisters Mary Laganas, Theda Triantafel, Helen George, Iris Sarantos and Tula Laganas and her brothers in law, George Triantafel, George George, Arthur Dukakis and Charles Sarantos.
Friends may call on Thursday morning, May 22, 2025, at HELLENIC ORTHODOX CHURCH OF THE HOLY TRINITY, 62 Lewis Street, in LOWELL from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM with her Funeral Service to follow in Church at 11:00 AM. Burial will be at Westlawn Cemetery in Lowell. E-condolences/directions may be found at www.odonnellfuneralhome.com.
