Beloved sister, aunt, and cousin;
Patricia A. “Pat” Shanahan, 73, of Lowell, Massachusetts, a member of a well-known Lowell family, passed away peacefully on Tuesday May 6, 2025, at Lowell General Hospital.
Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, August 26, 1951, the daughter of the late Daniel J. and Pauline P. (Fortuna) Shanahan, she attended St. Patrick Grammar School and graduated from Lowell High School in the Class of 1969.
Before she retired, Pat was an accounts payable clerk for the Lo Kai Restaurant in Dracut, MA for many years. Previously, she worked for the Courier Citizen & Sky Computers.
Among her many interests, Pat was a sports fanatic and loved to travel and especially enjoyed taking trips to Foxwood's Casino and Newport, RI. An excellent baker and was involved with the Holy Trinity Church and their Polish food festivals. Pat was also the Treasurer for the Walker Rogers VFW Post 662 Auxiliary for several years.
She is survived by two sisters, Laura Shanahan Rowe and her husband Earl of Hampton, NH, and Maureen Aubrey and her husband Frank of Hollis, NH; four nieces and nephews, Katherine Samson and her husband Chris of Wolfeboro, NH, Sean Shanahan and his companion Melanie Staples of Tewksbury, MA, Daniel J. Shanahan, IV and his wife Lisa of Lowell, MA, and George Shanahan and his wife Heather of Burlington, MA; a sister-in-law, Ann Shanahan of Dracut, MA along with many grandnieces, grandnephews and cousins.
She was the sister of the late Daniel J. Shanahan, III, Thomas M. Shanahan and John P. Shanahan also sister in law Jean Shanahan.
Relatives and friends may call on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at the O’DONNELL FUNERAL HOME 276 PAWTUCKET ST. in LOWELL from 4 to 7 P.M. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday morning at ST. PATRICK CHURCH in LOWELL at 11 o'clock followed by burial at the Westlawn I Cemetery. E-condolences/directions at http://www.odonnellfuneralhome.com.
