Retired Owner and Operator of the former Albert H. Notini and Sons;
Robert C. "Butch" Notini, 80, of Chelmsford, Massachusetts, a member of a well-known Greater Lowell family, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday September 25, 2025, at his home.
He was the beloved husband for over 54 years to Lynn E. (Verfaillie) Notini, who survives him.
Born in Lowell, MA, on July 31, 1945, the son of the late Robert E. and the late Doris C. (Belleville) Notini, he attended St. Margaret’s Grammar School and graduated from Lowell High School in the class of 1963.
Butch was a 4th generation owner and operator of his family’s business, Albert H. Notini and Sons. Founded in 1890, Notini and Sons was a wholesale distributor supplying tobacco and confectionary products to retailers before closing in 2014.
In his spare time, he enjoyed games of backgammon and cribbage, playing his ‘lucky numbers’ at Keno and skiing in his earlier years.
Besides his wife, Lynn, Butch is survived by three children, Tracy L. Riva and her husband James of Westford, MA, Matthew C. Notini and his partner Marin Misoda of Marblehead, MA, and Kathleen M. Notini of Chelmsford, MA; two grandchildren, Hunter Riva of Westford, MA, and Mia Notini of Chelmsford, MA; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was the brother of the late Diane Notini Laughran and David J. Notini.
