Roland, a lifelong resident of Dracut, passed away unexpectedly on December 30, 2025, at the age of 40.
He was born on December 16, 1985, and was the cherished son of Roland and Darleen (O’Brien) Charland of Dracut. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his best bud and loving brother, Corey Charland.
Roland was educated in the Dracut Public School system and worked for several years as a bus monitor for NRT. Prior to that, he worked at Stop & Shop in the produce department. In his spare time, he was an avid gamer and enjoyed visiting Disney World and many other amusement parks. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and sharing his culinary experiments.
He was predeceased by his grandparents, Roger and Claire (Guillimette) Charland of Tyngsboro, MA and Phillip and Phyllis (Gilchrest) O’Brien of Tyngsboro, MA, as well as his aunt, Colleen O’Brien, also of Tyngsboro, MA. In addition to his parents and brother, Roland is survived by several aunts, uncles, many cousins, and extended family and friends.
Roland will be especially remembered for his devotion to and care of his brother, Corey.
Friends may call on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at O’DONNELL FUNERAL HOME 276 PAWTUCKET ST. in LOWELL from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. His Funeral Service will follow the visitation in the funeral home.
