William J. Fortin Sr. 84, loving husband of Gloria (Gagnon) Fortin, died July 23 at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, N.H. following a lengthy illness.
Born in Lowell on July 20, 1941, he was a son of the late Henry and Annette (Beauregard) Fortin and received his education in the Lowell Schools.
William lived in Lowell for many years. He later lived in Florida for a short time and most recently William and his wife lived with his daughter Joanne in Manchester, N.H.
For many years, William worked as a maintenance worker for various apartment complexes in the Greater Lowell area.
In addition to his wife Gloria, William is survived by three sons, William J. Fortin Jr. and his wife Mary, Richard Fortin and his wife Becky, and James Fortin and his wife Tricia; a daughter, Joanne Diaz and her husband Harold; ten grandchildren; and fourteen great grandchildren.
It being the request of the family, all services will be private and under the care of the O’Donnell Funeral Home, Lowell, MA. 978-458-8768.
