William F. Gill

Loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend;

William F. Gill, 97, of Nashua, New Hampshire, but formerly of Lowell, passed away peacefully on Friday January 14, 2022, with his loving family by his side.

He was the beloved husband of the late Georgette (Michaud) Gill who died in 2008.

Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, November 16, 1924, the son of the late Patrick F. and the late Gertrude (Kelly) Gill, he was a veteran of World War II having proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Army Airborne as a Paratrooper.

Bill was the longtime owner and operator of Gills Shell Service on Rogers St. in Lowell where he serviced the automobiles of many customers and friends throughout the years. Previously, he was a sales representative with Sears and Roebuck for 15 years.

An avid golfer, Bill also enjoyed playing cribbage but was most happy when he was with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Bill is survived by a son William P. Gill and his wife Patricia of Pelham, NH; a daughter Kathleen A. (Gill) Stanick of Pelham, NH; four grandchildren Kathleen Chiungos of Hudson, NH, Edward G. Stanick of Pelham, NH, Shannon (Gill) Fultz and her husband Steven of Riverside, RI and Colleen Gill of Boston; a brother John Jack Gill and his wife Beverly; two sisters Gertrude Brophy and Margaret Latulippe; a sister-in-law Midge Gill; and many nieces and nephews.

He was also the brother of the late Daniel Gill, Barbara Monette, Frances Kirkpatrick, Virginia Maziarz and Sr. Patricia Gertrude.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his calling hours on Friday January 21, 2022, at ST. PATRICK CHURCH, 282 SUFFOLK ST. in LOWELL from 9:45 to 10:45 A.M. followed by his Funeral Mass at Church at 11 oclock. (All City and state required social distancing procedures will be observed including the wearing of masks upon entrance into the church). Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery in No. Tewksbury.
