Beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend,
William T. “Terry” Paletta, 78, of Tyngsboro, Massachusetts, but formerly of Lowell, passed away peacefully on Friday April 24, 2026, at the Atrium in Chelmsford with his family by his side.
He was the loving husband for over 57 years to Judith L. “Judy” (Angelo) Paletta, who survives him.
Born in Worcester, MA, May 16, 1947, the son of the late Julio Paletta and the late Alice S. (Stockwell) (Paletta) (Reynolds) Shepherd, he was a graduate of Lowell High School Class of 1965. He went on to graduate from St. Anselm’s College in Manchester with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry.
Prior to his retirement, Terry was a Sales Representative for Precision Elastomers, Inc. (PEI) in Ipswich. Previously, he had worked for Mearthane Corporation for several years.
Terry enjoyed playing golf and was a former long-time member of Vesper Country Club and Mt. Pleasant Golf Club. He also played tennis for many years at Trull Brook Tennis Club and was a member of Stony Brook Fish and Game.
In addition, he had a passion for flying and was licensed private pilot who enjoyed flying with family and friends
However, his greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Besides his wife Judy, Terry is survived by three children Lisa Helmbacher and her husband Kevin of Encinitas, CA, Terrence “Tipper” Paletta of Hudson, NH and Amy Kelly and her husband Dave of Hudson, NH; seven grandchildren Kaylee Helmbacher, Molly McNulty and her husband Jack, Emlyn Helmbacher, Riley Paletta, Owen Kelly, Anna Morel-Paletta and Keira Paletta; three siblings Barry Paletta and his wife Mary of Chelmsford, Linda Paletta Bills of Fairfield, CA, James H. Reynolds, III and his wife Ginny of Fairport, NY; his sister-in-law Luz Paletta of Titusville, FL; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was also the brother of the late Bronny Paletta and stepson of the late James Reynolds.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Memorial Funeral Mass to be celebrated on Monday May 4, 2026, at the IMMACULATE CONCEPTION CHURCH in LOWELL at 11 o’clock.
