Retired Teacher, City of Lowell, 82

 Helen T. (Considine) Dufresne, 82, a former resident of Lowell, died Saturday, July 27th at Emeritus at Meadow Lodge in North Chelmsford. She was the beloved wife of the late Normand W. Dufresne who died November 5, 1989.
 Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, December 4, 1930, the daughter of the late Joseph L. and the late Helen E. (Platt) Considine, she attended Lowell schools and was a graduate of Lowell High School in the Class of 1949. She then went on to graduate from Lowell State Teacher’s College (now known as U/Mass Lowell) earning a Bachelor’s Degree in 1953 and then attended Boston University graduating with a Master’s Degree in Education in 1957.
 Helen utilized her degrees and became a teacher in the Lowell school system for over 40 years. During her time as a teacher, she devoted her time and talent to many religious and educational organizations. She was also an editor/writer for the Lowell High School newspaper.  
 
As a communicant of St. Patrick Church in Lowell, Helen was a member of the Blessed Virgin Sodality and the Irish Cultural Committee. She was an active member of the D’Youville Senior Care Ladies Guild, the D’Youville Associates, the League of Catholic Women, the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians and a U/Mass Lowell Alumni Committee member. She was also a member of the Wamesit Archery Club in Lowell.
 Prior to entering the workforce, Helen was an avid worldwide traveler.
 Helen is survived by two daughters Melissa Vandette and her husband Gary of Attleboro, MA and Elizabeth Huoppi and her husband Eric of Chelmsford, MA; her grandson Ryan Vandette of Attleboro, MA; many sisters and brothers-in-law; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
 Friends may call at the O’DONNELL FUNERAL HOME 276 PAWTUCKET ST. at Fletcher from 4 to 7 P.M Wednesday. Her Funeral will take place from the Funeral Home Thursday morning at 9 o’clock followed by a Funeral Mass at ST. PATRICK CHURCH in Lowell at 10 o’clock. Burial in St. Patrick Cemetery in Lowell.
